Writers are readers. If I didn’t love reading mysteries, I can’t imagine I’d enjoy writing mysteries. Last week, I reviewed two of my favorite books from my recent vacation and this week, I thought I’d share a couple more with you. If you’re interested in them, by all means click on the links and buy the books. I get a small (and boy, I do mean small) reward as an Amazon Associate when you do that but you have my word — I don’t recommend books I don’t love. With that in mind, let’s dive in!
Marked Masters by Ritter Ames
This is book two of a delightful, heart-pounding series featuring a female James Bond-type lead who travels the world recovering stolen works of art while working to unmask frauds and counterfeiters. Bodies of Art is the series title and the newest entry is due out any day now. Ritter Ames writes another series you’ll enjoy, Organized for Murder. You will not be disappointed.
Spying in High Heels by Gemma Halliday
I admit, this one is not ordinarily my “go to” style and I almost stopped reading in the first chapter. However, I was on vacation and my ability to download books was limited so I pushed on and I am so glad I did! If I’d stopped, I would have missed out on a genuinely funny mystery. Maddie Springer does things that make me yell at my Kindle (and you get some funny looks yelling at a Kindle on a cruise ship) but in the end, it’s a mystery / romance / comedy success. If you like High Heels, there are plenty more adventures waiting for you.
That’s it for today. I want to take a minute to thank all of you who have nominated my newest book, The Fine Art of Deception, through the Kindle Scout program. It’s there through July 12 and then either Amazon will publish it or I will. Please take a moment to read the sample and let Amazon know if you think they should pick it up. If you’ve already vote, thank you! Please feel free to pass the word.
I have a couple of opportunities for you to win free mystery novels today. If you win one of mine that you’ve already read, let me know and I’ll gift your choice of any of my books.
